A total of 54,975 people in Northeast Florida have cast vote-by-mail ballots for the Nov. 8 election.
Republicans have cast more ballots than Democrats — 25,171 to 21,283, according to data released Friday by the Florida Division of Elections. Voters with no party affiliation have cast 7,660 ballots, and 861 ballots are classified as other, or third party ballots.
Republicans have cast more mail ballots in every Northeast Florida county except Duval.
Statewide, 1,043,953 vote-by-mail ballots have been cast, with Democrats edging Republicans by 438,552 to 400,287. Unaffiliated voters have cast 189,910 ballots statewide, and third party voters cast 15,204.
Early in-person voting for the Nov. 8 election begins next week. These are the dates in Northeast Florida:
Baker County — Oct. 27-Nov. 5.
Clay County — Oct. 28-Nov. 5.
Duval County — Oct. 24-Nov. 6.
Nassau County — Oct. 26-Nov. 5.
Putnam County — Oct. 24-Nov. 5.
St. Johns County — Oct. 26-Nov. 5.
