W.I.T.C.H.
JME Soundstage | Downtown Jacksonville
In the 1970s, the band W.I.T.C.H. (We Intend to Cause Havoc) was as big as The Beatles in their native Zambia. Pioneers of a sound that fuses American rock and roll with African rhythms that came to be known as Zamrock, the group was not widely known outside of Africa until Los Angeles record label Now-Again reissued the band’s catalog in the early 2010s. Now, in the midst of its first-ever North American tour, W.I.T.C.H. headlines a special night of music on the JME Soundstage here at WJCT Studios. L.A. indie band PAINT and psychedelic-rock quartet Frankie and the Witch Fingers fill out the bill. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music starting at 7. Tickets are $35; get them here. More info here.
