Theatre in the Park: The Shakespearean Games

This looks like a lot of fun. Catch a free (interactive!) outdoor show under the stars as the city of Atlantic Beach and Lumen Repertory Theatre present The Shakespearean Games. This live, interactive mashup mixes classic Shakespeare scenes with improv-style competition. Professional actors and Lumen Rep’s NEXTGEN Apprentice Company face off head-to-head, using audience suggestions for a fast, unpredictable performance featuring bits from Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, and more. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to settle in on the grass. Food trucks will be on-site.

MJ Torrecampo: Cut the Fruit

Head to the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville this weekend for the opening of Cut the Fruit, a new exhibition by Orlando-based artist MJ Torrecampo. Their layered, overhead-perspective paintings take everyday moments and turn them into complex visual narratives exploring family, belonging and cultural identity. The exhibition’s title draws from “cut fruit,” a nonverbal expression of care common in Filipino American households. If you don’t catch the show this weekend, don’t worry. It runs through February of 2027.
