Jacksonville’s Animal Care and Protective Services animal shelter has made a couple of additions to its campus at 2020 Forest St. in Riverside. The new Forest Street Dog Park has separate areas for large and small dogs to run around. The city shelter also just opened the Bold Kitty Café and will soon open the Kona Kat Park. Both were existing cat rooms that have been remodeled with help from Friends of Jacksonville Animals and Kona Skatepark. The zhuzhed-up spaces are where you can hang out with prospective feline family members and get an idea of the cats’ personalities. The shelter is open every day from noon to 7 p.m. See the adoptable pets here
