Buckman Bridge drivers can once again expect two northbound lanes to be closed this weekend.

Crews from the Florida Department of Transportation will continue to replace the structure’s steel joints, a $5.5 million project expected to conclude late this year.

Two inside northbound lanes of Interstate 295 over the Buckman will close at 10 p.m. Friday and reopen by 4 a.m. Monday.

FDOT also will close the ramp from San Jose Boulevard to I-295 North. Drivers can use a detour via Old St. Augustine Road to get onto I-295 North.

Past work on the bridge has caused miles-long backups, so take another route if possible. Those detours include using the Shands Bridge to the south or the Fuller Warren Bridge to the north.
