During Monday’s St. Augustine City Commission meeting, city leaders honored DeMario Douglas, a New England Patriots wide receiver who grew up in St. Augustine. Douglas, who played with the Patriots during their Super Bowl showdown with the Seattle Seahawks this month, attended Ketterlinus Elementary School, Sebastian Middle and Pedro Menendez High in St. Augustine before graduating from Mandarin High in Jacksonville. He’s played with the Patriots since 2023, when they recruited Douglas from Liberty University.
