Violet

Saturday + Sunday (and the next two weekends)

Players By the Sea | Jacksonville Beach

If you’re looking for an incredible night of theater, head over to Players by the Sea for the opening weekend of the acclaimed musical Violet. Set in 1964, the story follows a young woman, scarred by a childhood accident, as she journeys across the American South in search of a televangelist she believes can heal her. Along the way, she connects with fellow travelers who challenge her understanding of beauty, faith and self-worth. Driven by a soaring folk- and gospel-inspired score by Jeanine Tesori, it is a deeply moving, heartfelt story about resilience and discovery.

GOALS 2.0 World Cup Watch Party

All weekend (and beyond)

Myrtle Avenue Brewing | Rail Yard District

The GOALS pop-up party is back, this time taking over Myrtle Avenue Brewing and broadcasting every single World Cup match! Two years ago, I went to their first iteration in Springfield when they showed all of the Euro and Copa América 2024 matches, and I absolutely loved it. If you’re a die-hard soccer fan, go be in your element. Even if you aren’t into sports but appreciate a unique DIY vibe, it is worth checking out this cool community experiment. Plus enjoy delicious cold drinks and food from Myrtle Avenue Brewing, a soccer market with vintage jerseys, stickers, artwork and more. I’ll definitely be popping in a few times throughout the tournament.

The party lasts from noon to midnight every day through June 27 | 633 Myrtle Ave N. | Free and open to the public | More info
