Earth Day is tomorrow. Here are a few ways to celebrate this week:
- The Orange Park Mall is hosting a community recycling and shredding event tomorrow to collect electronics, like old computers, phones, TVs and or their accessories. You can also bring paper documents to be shredded and recycled. And Waste Not Want Not will be there to accept donations of food, clothing and other items that might otherwise be thrown out. See more details.
- The city of St. Augustine is hosting its own similar recycling and shredding event Friday to collect old electronics and used cooking oils. You can also bring paper documents for shredding. See more details.
- Once you’ve recycled everything, go a step further by helping to beautify the Earth. Two cleanups scheduled in Downtown Jax on Saturday morning: One at James Weldon Johnson Park, where volunteers will also do some planting, and the other on the Southbank at Friendship Fountain. See cleanup details.
