What’s better than symphony music? Free symphony music. The Jacksonville Civic Orchestra is performing two concerts this weekend to honor the Civil Rights Movement in America. The show, From Civil War to Civil Rights, includes Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” Margaret Bond’s “Montgomery Variations,” James P. Johnson’s “Harlem Symphony” and the Jax-native Johnson brothers’ “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Catch the show Saturday at the Main Library or Sunday at Jacksonville University. Get tickets.
