Home2 Suites hotel opens in Brooklyn area

A 100-room Home2 Suites hotel has opened in the Brooklyn area, a move that the developers touted as a spark for Downtown revitalization.

The Home2 Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Downtown is an all-suites property at 600 Park St., near the junction of Interstates 95 and 10.

The property offers studio and one-bedroom suites with a full kitchen and a working/media space. The hotel has complimentary daily breakfast, free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour fitness center with Peloton cycle and Hydrow rowing machines, a self-service laundry room, a market for grab-and-go items, and an outdoor patio and fire pit.

Players Grille plans to open in the hotel in late summer or early fall.

The Home2 Suites by Hilton Jacksonville Downtown is owned by Kelco CL Park LLC, a partnership between Corner Lot and Kelco Management & Development Inc., which will manage the hotel.

“The economic impact of this landmark project extends far beyond the hospitality sector,
contributing significantly to the growth and development of the Downtown Jacksonville
area,” Corner Lot said in a news release Tuesday, as a ribbon-cutting marked the hotel’s opening.

The construction phase of the hotel generated over 200 jobs, the news release said.
