Aaron Farrar joins News4Jax as a weekend morning reporter, after working a year at WFXR in Roanoke, Virginia, as a morning news reporter and primary fill-in anchor. Before that, he spent two years as a multimedia journalist at WTVC in Chattanooga, Tennessee. While in the Volunteer State, Aaron won several Associated Press awards for his work. Aaron was named best TV reporter in 2018 by the AP and won an award for best short light feature for a story of a World War II veteran receiving his high school diploma at 99 years old. He picked up another Associated Press award in 2019 for a short serious news story when a 2-year-old girl went missing and was found sleeping on a porch a few blocks away from home. Aaron also worked at WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia, from 2015 to 2018. He began his time in the Mountain State as a multimedia journalist before spending more than two years as the weekend sports anchor and reporter. While there, Aaron won an Ohio AP award for best sports feature story about an elementary school basketball player who competed in a national free throw competition.
