Jacksonville Beekeepers Association mentoring session

Jax Bees Apiary | West Jacksonville

Curious about beekeeping? Join the Jacksonville Beekeepers Association for their monthly mentoring session, where beginners get hands-on experience and advice from seasoned beekeepers. Be sure to dress appropriately: a bee suit/veil, long pants, long sleeves, closed-toed shoes, tall socks and gloves (gardening gloves are fine). Avoid perfumes and tobacco. (The bees don’t like strong smells!) A few spare veils may be available—first come, first served.

2640 W. 1st St.; 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Free and open to the public. No registration required, but signing a waiver is. More info.

Skyview: A Concert Celebrating the Bryan-Gooding Planetarium

Museum of Science and History | Southbank

This weekend, the Museum of Science and History’s Bryan-Gooding Planetarium will host its final live concert under the dome ahead of the museum’s closure and eventual move across the river. The evening features a performance by Jacksonville’s own space rock band, Skyview, set against a backdrop of full-dome visuals, lasers and rare archival footage from the history of space exploration. It’s a thoughtful send-off for one of MOSH’s most beloved spaces.

1025 Museum Circle; 8: 30 p.m. (Doors: 7:30); Tickets: $25. Tickets and more info.
