Clay County is providing free vaccines for pets through Petco’s Vaccinated and Loved initiative to help prevent parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats, the most deadly diseases that affect our furry friends. The first vaccine session is tomorrow at Clay County Animal Services at 3984 State Road 16 W. in Green Cove Springs. It’s first come, first served for the first 25 pet owners who show up between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. There’s a three-pets-per-vehicle limit, and pet owners must be Clay County residents. (Can’t make it? More dates will be announced on the shelter’s Facebook page, with a goal of providing 500 free vaccines overall.)
