BIT OF JOY | Extra time to file taxes

Are you a last-minute tax filer? Good news: You don’t need to scramble to get everything done today! While the usual April 15 deadline still applies for most of the country, residents in states affected by last year’s hurricanes were granted a little extra time. In Florida, Georgia and other states where FEMA declared a disaster last year, you have until May 1 to file your taxes. And if you think you’ll need even more time, you have until May 1 to request an extension.
