Proposed improvements to the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club and The Lodge Club in St. Johns County will be discussed at a public meeting Wednesday.

Ponte Vedra Corp. is seeking to rezone about 91 acres to a planned unit development. The proposal will come before a meeting of the Ponte Vedra/Palm Valley Architectural Review Committee.

Previously, the company proposed to build a 55-foot tall structure that was 1 foot taller than the highest building on the property. Updated plans include limiting building heights to no taller than the existing buildings on the properties.

The proposed updates to the resorts will allow the facilities to be more resilient and competitive with similar resorts, the company says.

If approved, the updates would take place in phases over 30 years.
