Q: Jacksonville Today reader Marla P. has a problem when it comes to her household recyclable items: Her condo building in Jacksonville Beach only recycles paper. “I would be happy to bring my cardboard, plastics and glass to a recycling center, but I do not see any online that don’t charge for their service,” she says. “Is there no city facility where I can bring recycling?”
A: There are no municipal recycling drop-off sites at the Beaches, but the city of Jacksonville says household recyclables in Duval County can be taken to Republic Services’ North Florida Recycling Center at 7000 Imeson Road. A bin at the facility’s gate is free for residents to use from sunrise to sunset daily.

As for other counties, here are some of the drop-off sites available. Click on the county name for hours of availability, items taken, and more:
- West Nassau Convenience Recycle Center, 46026 Landfill Road, Callahan
- 7282 Motes Road, Bryceville
- 86142 Goodbread Drive, Yulee
The county announced today that curbside recycling would resume Dec. 5th after being suspended in 2021 due to a driver shortage. Here are temporary drop-off sites in the county:
- Fleming Island Library, 1895 Town Center Blvd., Fleming Island
- Oakleaf Community Park, 3979 Plantation Oaks Blvd., Orange Park
- Ronnie Van Zant Park, 2760 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs
- Sunrise Park, 7933 Sunrise Blvd., Keystone Heights
- Walter Odum Park, 450 Parkwood Drive, Orange Park
- Former Kingsley Lake Volunteer Fire Station, 6343 Seminole St.
- Omega Park, 4317 County Road 218, Middleburg

The county’s long-term drop-off sites are:
- Clay Hill Environmental Convenience Center, 5869 County Road 218, Middleburg
- Doctor’s Inlet Environmental Convenience Center, 288 Sleepy Hollow Road, Middleburg
- Keystone Heights Environmental Convenience Center, 5505 County Road 214, Keystone Heights
- Long Bay Environmental Convenience Center, 1589 Long Bay Rd, Middleburg
- Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility, 3545 Rosemary Hill Road, Green Cove Springs
- Huntington Solid Waste/Recycle Center, 1551 County Road 308, four miles west of Crescent City
