The Downtown Investment Authority would provide a forgivable loan of nearly $200,000 to resurrect Bellwether restaurant under new ownership and management, according to a proposal set for consideration by the DIA board Aug. 27.

DIA Resolution 2026-08-04 would provide a $198,863 loan to relaunch and build-out the restaurant at 117 W. Forsyth St. to include what is described in a DIA staff report as “a refreshed Bellwether restaurant, an elevated bar program, a new Temaki Room Japanese handroll and omakase concept, and a morning breakfast and coffee program.”
