Congratulations are in order for 10 local students who play in the Cathedral Arts Project String Orchestra. They took first place at the Crescendo International Music Competition’s audition round and will be heading to legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City to compete in the Winners’ Recital on Feb. 1. The winning ensemble are N’Diyah B., Kercy F., Giavanna N., Genala R., Jerome S., Tobyn S., Marielly S., Yuri S., Landon S. and Detrick T. The talented students range from 8th to 11th grade and attend Jacksonville schools including Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, River City Science Academy and Samuel Wolfson School for Advanced Studies. Wishing them the best of luck, and to enjoy every minute on the big stage!
