Nature Print Workshop

Saturday

Fort Caroline Visitors Center | Arlington

Artist-in-residence Crystal Floyd is hosting a free monoprint workshop this Saturday at the Fort Caroline Visitor Center inside the Timucuan Ecological & Historic Preserve. It’s a drop-in style event where you use natural materials and gelli plates to create prints inspired by the preserve. It’s very low-pressure since there’s no registration or set start time. Just show up anytime between the morning and mid-afternoon to make something. Supplies are provided while they last, so bring your friends and come ready to experiment. While you’re there, check out the history and explore the fort and trails.

Singalong Brunch

Saturday

The District | Springfield

The District is hosting a Singalong Brunch every Saturday in May, which is basically a brunch where the music takes over and the whole place ends up singing along to the tracks the DJs are spinning. It’s a lot more high-energy and interactive than your usual brunch date. They have Mr. Al Pete, Dialectable, and Wuzgud handling the music for the month, so you know it’s going to be a good time. Round up your friends for some delicious cocktails and eats, and definitely come ready to sing.

Saturday

Alpine Groves Park | St. Johns

St. Johns County Parks and Rec is hosting the Bartram Living History Festival Saturday at Alpine Groves Park. The event focuses on the history and environment of the St. Johns River, featuring an interpretive performer as William Bartram to share what the area was like during his explorations 250 years ago. The festival includes tours of the historic Harris Bennett House, live music and historic reenactments throughout the day. Take your time exploring the 54-acre park and its citrus groves while learning about the local heritage. Food and drinks will be available on-site from the Twisted Okie and Sour Filly trucks.
