St. Johns County’s clerk of the circuit court and county comptroller is shipping out to support U.S. Navy contingency operations in the Middle East.
When Brandon Patty deploys as of Friday, County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Chief Information OfficerJohn Rundgren is designated to fulfill his responsibilities, county officials say.
Patty received official notification of his mobilization in December and submitted a leave of absence request to the governor, who approved it, officials say.
In a news release, Patty says that being called to serve overseas in uniform is an honor and privilege.
“While I will be serving you in a different capacity for the time being, we will continue meeting our important mission, protecting taxpayer dollars and seeking opportunities to make your interactions with us easier than before,” he stated.
Deployment orders are scheduled to run until the end of the year.
