What to know about the Blue Angels’ show this weekend

The U.S. Navy’s famed Blue Angels will return to the skies over Jacksonville Beach this weekend.

The Sea and Sky Air Show is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There’ll be military demonstrations and the Navy’s aerial acrobatic team.

Here are all the details:

Schedule: Both days will begin with concerts by the Navy Band Southeast at 1 p.m. at the Seawalk Pavilion. The U.S. Navy Maritime Patrol squadron will fly over just after 2 p.m. both days, with demonstrations by the U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter Squadron at 2:30 p.m. The Blue Angels’ “Fat Albert” will do flybys at 2:45 p.m., with the Blue Angels at 3 p.m. both days.

Cost: Free. VIP packages including premium seating and other amenities are sold out.

Parking: A shuttle service will run from Florida State College at Jacksonville, 11901 Beach Blvd., to the corner of Pablo Avenue and 4th Street North, for $10 round trip.

Traffic:

  • 1st Street N from 1st. Avenue N to Beach Boulevard will be closed from 9:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday night. 
  • 1st Street N from 2nd Avenue N to Beach Boulevard will be closed until 6 p.m. Friday (as is 1st Avenue N between 2nd Street N and 1st Street N.)
