Jacksonville airport adds local flavor with more restaurants

In a move toward bringing more Northeast Florida flavor to Jacksonville International Airport, the airport has added or expanded Firehouse Subs and Southern Grounds & Co. and is adding Pura Bean Coffee to a larger Vino Volo and — to the cheers of fans — Angie’s Subs.

While not locally based, Chili’s also is expanding from its original size at the entrance to Concourse A, just as Vino Volo is doubling in size at the front of Concourse C.

The goal of the myriad changes is to bring more food and beverage options to the airport and to better reflect a sense of place in Jacksonville, said Jeff Taylor, properties manager for the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.
