Duval Folx, the inclusive dance party founded by Jacksonville-bred singer-rapper-DJ-activist Geexella, is back for a revelrous night of dancing under the branches of the Great Cummer Oak in celebration of Pride. For five years now, Geexella and company have been creating safe spaces for BIPOC and LGBTQIA youth through pop-up dance parties at area venues. The evening’s festivities include performances by Nick Fresh, Geexella and Sib in the gardens of the Cummer. The event runs from 6-9 p.m. It’s free to attend. RSVP at cummermuseum.org

The Florida Ballet | Arlington
Jax-based theater company The 5 & Dime brings Lynn Nottage’s Tony-nominated Broadway production Clyde’s to the stage at the Florida Ballet. A sandwich-shop-kitchen staff made up of formerly incarcerated people navigate the sway of mischievous owner in this critically acclaimed play, which makes its Northeast Florida debut this weekend with performances on Friday (8 p.m.) and Saturday (8 p.m.). Cummer Museum & Gardens | Riverside
Culled from the DeMell Jacobsen collection – pieces from which have been on view at major museums around the globe – American Made surveys 200 years of creativity through the paintings and sculptures of U.S. artists. From colonial-era portraits to 19th century landscape paintings, still lives and genre scenes, the exhibit is a broad representation of the American experience both at home and abroad. American Made opens Friday and runs through late September. The Cummer is open Friday (11 a.m.-9 p.m.), Saturday (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and Sunday (noon-4 p.m.). More information: cummermuseum.org

Duval Comic and Zine Fest
Main Library | Downtown Jacksonville
The Jacksonville Public Library hosts a celebration of visual storytelling, as dozens of local creators from the city’s comic and zine scenes, as well as graphic novelist Leela Corman (Unterzakhn, We All Wish for Deadly Force), will be on hand for the Duval Comic and Zine Fest at the Main Library. The event features panel discussions, printmaking workshops and more. It’s held from 1-5p.m. Corman will sit for an interview at 1:30 p.m (register here). The event is free to attend.
