The 6th Annual St. Augustine PoetFest returns this weekend for a three-day celebration of the written and spoken word. The festival kicks off Thursday with a Beat Poet Summit at the Waterworks and continues through Saturday with a book bazaar, interactive “zine” workshops, author discussions and more. The schedule features a keynote from Cleveland Heights Poet Laureate Ray McNiece and a special closing ceremony honoring the winners of the countywide haiku contest. Most events take place at Flagler College’s Ringhaver Student Center, in the heart of the historic district.

Philadelphia-based Soraia bring their raw, garage-rock sound to Murray Hill for a headline set. Rounding out the bill are local indie favorites mercy mercy and singer-songwriter Elyse Berlin. Go rock out to a great touring act and two of the city’s distinct local sounds, all in the intimate setting of one of Jacksonville’s most beloved and intimate venues.

Yoga with the Tigers

Catty Shack Ranch | Northside

If you’ve ever wanted to hold tiger pose just steps away from an actual tiger, this is your chance. Swap the gym for the sanctuary at Catty Shack Ranch. This 60-minute yoga session takes place in an open field just steps away from the majestic big cats, providing a one-of-a-kind setting for your morning stretch. While adults participate in the yoga sesh, children can stay engaged at “Cubs Corner” with supervised games and activities. The event wraps up with a private guided tour of the ranch, where volunteers introduce you to the residents and share the stories behind the sanctuary’s rescue mission.
