The Duval Schools math teacher who was arrested last year for exposing himself through a poolside window at a Disney resort was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months’ probation. He also will have to relinquish his teaching license.

An Orange County jury found Christopher Allen-Black, 54, guilty of misdemeanor charges for exposure of sexual organs. His probation sentence includes 100 hours of community service, according to court documents, and he’s not allowed contact with minors other than family members.

His lawyer confirmed the outcome of the case but did not have a comment.

Allen-Black was a math teacher at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. When he was arrested after the incident at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort last February, the school district waited six weeks before removing him from his classroom.

The district received a lot of criticism from the community over the delay and has since changed its policies to require teachers accused of certain kinds of misconduct to be immediately removed from the classroom.

Jacksonville Today later first reported that a district investigator had tried twice to remove Allen-Black from student contact, but was denied both times. The district has not said why. Records show the district learned of Allen-Black’s arrest within hours of its occurrence.

Allen-Black was among seven teachers who have been removed from Douglas Anderson after allegations of sexual misconduct — beginning with Jeffrey Clayton’s arrest in 2023.

District offices are closed on Fridays, and a spokesperson could not be reached for comment.
