The Talbots women’s clothing store is closing at St. Johns Town Center, where the city has issued a permit for fashion designer Marc Jacobs.
Inventory at Talbots was consolidated into one half of the store as of Jan. 7. Associates told customers the retailer will close Jan. 25 and the unsold inventory will be distributed to other area Talbots stores, which remain open.

Talbots has stores at 10311 Big Tree Lane, east of San Jose Boulevard and north of Interstate 295, in Mandarin; in Ponte Vedra Beach at 330 State Road A1A N., Unit 100, in the Shoppes of Ponte Vedra; and in Fernandina Beach at 1408 Sadler Road in Sadler Crossing.
It also has an outlet in the St. Augustine Premium Outlets.
