The Florida Department of Transportation will host two public hearings to get feedback on a project to widen Interstate 95 near Downtown.
This project will take place from I-95 near Kings Road to Interstate 10 near Forest Street, News4Jax reports.
It will fix the deck of the Myrtle Avenue Bridge and add up to two lanes in each direction on I-95.
The Myrtle Avenue Overpass bridge is a historic landmark, built almost 70 years ago, in 1955. It’s the only remaining steel-tied arch bridge in the state.
There are two opportunities to attend a public meeting, ask questions, and share thoughts on the project.
The first meeting is virtual and begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday. Public comment is expected to start at 6 p.m.
People also will have a chance to attend an in-person meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the FDOT Urban Office Training Center on Evidence.
