The gardens of Jacksonville’s Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens are closed indefinitely.

Museum curator Holly Keris says the gardens suffered damage from three back-to-back hurricanes —most recently Milton— and they had to close off the gardens for repairs.

In addition to the hurricanes, a very wet early fall and higher-than-normal river levels created another set of challenges compounded by supply chain and vendor availability, Keris said.

“Because of the historical significance of the gardens, this process requires extra diligence in order to ensure the highest standards of quality,” Keris said.
