The Jaguars kick off their 30th season on Sunday at the Miami Dolphins.

Sunday will mark Trevor Lawrence’s fourth year as the Week 1 starting quarterback – an accomplishment only surpassed by Mark Brunell and Blake Bortles. The 24-year-old is rapidly approaching franchise records set by both.

Speaking of which… our Number of the Week honors the First Coast’s favorite QB:

6.6875 miles

Jacksonville’s QB1 has passed for 11,770 yards in his 50 games with the franchise, or 6.6875 miles. Fun fact: That happens to be the rough distance from one Jaguar’s habitat to another — the walk from EverBank Stadium to the Jacksonville Zoo. (As the crow flies, Lawrence’s passing yards would actually take you a bit beyond the zoo.)

If Lawrence remains healthy and meets preseason projections, he should pass for 4,234 yards this year and surpass former Jags QB David Garrard in passing yards.

As for the matchup with Miami: The Jags are 6-5 all-time against their fellow Floridians. Their last win over the Dolphins, 23-20 in London in 2021, was a memorable one for Lawrence, who secured his first win as a professional quarterback that afternoon.

“It was awesome,” Lawrence told reporters this week. “(We) had to go overseas to do it, but yeah, obviously we started and finished pretty rough that year.”

Jacksonville’s last win over Miami also snapped a 20-game losing streak. And it was one of Coach Urban Meyer’s two wins during his disastrous tenure in teal and black.

Before you get to picking out which Jags gear to wear for Sunday’s game, here are three more fun facts about the team:
