Ritz Theatre & Museum | LaVilla
New works by photographers Malcolm Jackson and Weldon Ryan are paired with archival images from the Ritz Theatre & Museum’s collection for Coastlines, an exhibit exploring a century of beach life on the coasts of Northeast Florida. The exhibit is on view through Sept. 6. An $8 “self-guided tour” ticket gets you into the museum and the exhibit on Friday any time from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets and more info.

Free Saturdays at MOCA

Enjoy free admission every Saturday at MOCA, and, as the museum is in the midst of its 100th-year celebration, this Saturday is as good a day as any to check what’s on view. Of note, A Walk on the Wild Side explores an undeniably fertile time (and place) in contemporary art –1970s New York City – with works by Andy Warhol, Philip Glass, David Bowie, Yoko Ono and Robert Mapplethorpe. Voices of Moncrief features the multi-media work of University of North Florida Student-In-Residence Elysa Adams and Stacked Stars, a site-specific installation created by influential American artist Frank Stella currently fills the museum’s atrium. A virtuoso of the violin, Tampa-native Omari Dillard explores a broad range of genres including popular R&B and soul hits. Known widely as the Soul Violinist, Dillard performs at the Terry Theater inside the Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets and more info.
