Beaches Fine Arts Series Presents: Aaron Diehl Trio
St. Paul’s By The Sea Episcopal Church | Jacksonville Beach
The Beaches Fine Arts concert series recently kicked off its 51st season. On Friday, BFAS returns to St. Pauls-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Jax Beach with a trio of world-renowned musicians led by pianist Aaron Diehl and featuring David Wong (bass) and Aaron Kimmel (drums). A Cole Porter fellow who The New York Times called “a composer worth watching,” Diehl and company will tackle the pianist’s original compositions as well as works by May Lou Williams, Thad Jones and Sir Rolland Hanna. Each concert in this year’s series includes a visual art installation by a local or regional artist. This time: Jax-based painter Christianna Louise White Fletcher’s opening reception is Friday night after Goldstein’s performance. Doors at 6:45 p.m. More info.

Florida Highwaymen: Al Black
Lilu’s Art Gallery | St. Augustine
One of the few remaining from the 26 original Florida Highwaymen – traveling African American artists who sold their work up and down the thoroughfares of the East Coast in the mid-20th century – Al Black will visit Lilu’s Art Gallery in St. Augustine’s historic district this weekend. Work by Black and his fellow Highwaymen is featured in a permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian. Black will be on hand on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 1-3 p.m. More info.

AIGA Design+Music Poster Show
CoRK Arts District | Riverside
The annual AIGA Jax Design+Music Poster Show returns to CoRK for an evening celebrating music and the ephemera it inspires. The musically inspired poster art of dozens of local creatives will be on display inside the facilities of the CoRK Arts District in Riverside, while a lineup of local artists, including Luci Lind, Ducats, Juan Torres and Carmen bring the live tunes.
