Facets: Contemporary Expressions in Sculptural Ceramics 

MOCA | Downtown Jacksonville

This week, MOCA Jacksonville unveiled a new exhibition featuring the work of 11 artists, internationally recognized for their innovation and ingenuity working in contemporary ceramics. On view in MOCA’s UNF Gallery, and presented in partnership, Facets: Contemporary Expressions in Sculptural Ceramics showcases a range of approaches, materials and techniques. The exhibition opened on Wednesday and is on view until Nov. 26. The museum is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. More info.

Dog Rose Brewing | Historic St. Augustine

The Sing Out Loud festival kicks off in St. Augustine this weekend with a packed month of programming, which includes the two-day Francis Field Showcase — Yola, The Black Keys, Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers and more — and dozens of local showcases across the city. Jacksonville artists Ebonique, Broadway Louie and Kearsten Monielle, along with DJ Larry Love, will perform as part of the festival’s 904 Soul showcase on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Dog Rose Brewing in St. Augustine’s historic district. The showcase was curated by Mr. Al Pete, the Jacksonville hip-hop artist, DJ, media mogul and contributor to the Jacksonville Music Experience. It’s free to attend. More info.

Nest Coworking | Riverside

Locally founded arts organization Femart Gallery, Inc. presents Squared, a new exhibit of nearly three-dozen works by 14 local artists, exploring cubes, angles and other mathematical concepts. An opening reception is held on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Femart Gallery inside Riverside’s Nest Coworking. The opening includes an artist talk and a silent auction. More info.
