The Sporting Jax Women’s soccer club has donated $9,900 to The Corner at Debs ahead of their second season in the Gainbridge Super League. The team says it selected the grocery store on Jacksonville’s Eastside because it provides healthy options at accessible prices. The Corner at Debs reopened in 2024 after a decade-long effort. The league’s sponsor, Gainbridge, teamed up with former U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper Briana Scurry and pledged to donate $99 for every save the Sporting Jax goalkeepers made during the 2025-26 season. Goalies Kaitlyn Parks and Jamie Gerstenberg combined for 80 saves in 28 matches. Gainbridge handled the rest. Sporting Jax kicks off its 2026-27 season against Fort Lauderdale United on Aug. 15. The club’s home opener is Aug. 22 at Hodges Stadium against the Tampa Bay Sun.
