Four kindergarten students were injured Thursday morning when a commercial truck rear-ended a Duval County school bus headed to the Jacksonville zoo.

The crash happened as the bus was crossing train tracks on Zoo Parkway about 10:30 a.m. The injured students were transported to a hospital for treatment, school officials said.

The bus was from San Pablo Elementary School, according to a message from Duval County Public Schools to families. Kindergarten students were on board, enroute to the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens for a field trip, according to the message to parents.

All other students were safe. School staff were with them after the crash, school officials said.
