An rock musical in Arlington; a movie date night on the Downtown waterfront;, and a celebration of sisterhood in St. Augustine are What to Do this weekend in the Jacksonville area.

‘Alice By Heart‘
All Weekend
5 and Dime Stage at Florida Ballet | Regency
Local theater company 5 & Dime is kicking off its new season with Alice by Heart. If you’re a fan of Spring Awakening, you’ll recognize the same indie-rock energy since it’s from the same creative team. The story is a reimagining of Alice in Wonderland, but set in an underground air-raid shelter during the London Blitz. A young girl named Alice retreats into her favorite book to help her friend Alfred (and herself) cope with the chaos of WWII. It’s a beautiful, slightly dark look at how we use our imaginations to get through the hardest times, full of nostalgia and a really great score.
Friday, Saturday: 8 p.m.; Sunday matinee: 2 p.m. | 10131 Atlantic Blvd. | Tickets: $33.85 | Tickets and more info

JaxParks Adult Date Night Movie Night: ‘The Princess Bride‘
Friday
Riverfront Plaza | Downtown Jax
Looking for a romantic way to spend Friday night this Valentine’s Day weekend? As you wish! JaxParks is hosting a free screening of The Princess Bride right on the river. It’s arguably one of the most quotable movies ever made, following Westley on his quest to reunite with Buttercup through the kingdom of Florin, battling ROUS’s and outsmarting Vizzini along the way all in the name of T’woo Wuv. This date night has it all: food trucks and a riverfront bar serving beer and wine, and free popcorn. So grab your chairs and blankets and see if you can still recite every line. Just keep an eye on the sky, as it’s a weather-permitting event.
7 p.m. | 2 W. Independent Drive | Free and open to the public | More info
