St. Augustine is adjusting its Nights of Lights plan after requesting over $1 million from St. Johns County but receiving only about $850,000.
The City Commission this week reviewed a plan that would cut back on extra bathrooms. The original plan was to add 116 porta-potties in a parking lot, but the city will cut that down to 50.

The $122,000 for portable restrooms is still a big jump from the $3,000 the city spent last year.
Overall, this year’s Nights of Lights is expected to cost more than $1.3 million in public money — up from less than half a million last year.
