Quiltfest

Thursday-Saturday

Prime F. Osbourne III Convention Center | Jacksonville

I attended Quiltfest for the first time in 2023 and literally could not stop talking about it for a solid week. I was genuinely impressed—it opened my eyes to quilting as a true artform. This annual event is organized entirely by volunteers with a mission to showcase extraordinary quilts while encouraging and inspiring quilters of every skill level. Quiltfest is also a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It’s a celebration of creativity and tradition that welcomes both seasoned quilters and those discovering the craft for the first time. If you haven’t experienced it yet, this year is the perfect opportunity to see what quilting is all about.

1000 Water St.; Tickets: $15. More info.

Friday

An Evening of Stories & Songs with Mark Winters

Story and Song Center for Arts and Culture | Fernandina Beach

Jacksonville Today thanks our sponsors. Become one.

It’s not every day that you have the opportunity to see a bona fide rocket scientist-turned-songwriter perform. Mark Winters, a Texas-based musician, calls his style “rock with a positive vibe,” blending bluesy guitar, thoughtful lyrics, and an easygoing energy (think Tom Petty). Story and Song is a cool place. Get there early and check out the bookstore and cafe before heading upstairs for the concert.

1430 Park Ave., Fernandina Beach; Tickets: $25.;  Tickets and more info.

Saturday

Bazar À La Carte

Legacy Studios | Phoenix Arts District

Bazar À La Carte, Gainesville’s cult-favorite night market, is on a Florida tour, and the next stop is Jacksonville’s Phoenix Arts District. Part market, part block party, part art takeover, this roaming festival drops you right into Florida’s DIY creative scene, bringing together makers, musicians, and muralists (and food trucks!) for a night that feels more like a scene than an event.

2404 Hubbard St.; Tickets: $5; Tickets and more info.
