Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland says 3,218 high school students recently registered to vote during his countywide student voter registration drive. The drive was also a competition: 28 Duval schools competed to register the most students. Holland’s office says the most civic-minded public schools with the most registrants are First Coast High, Terry Parker and Bridge to Success Academy. The top private school winners are Bishop Kenny, The Bolles School and Pace Center for Girls. Edward Waters University won in the college category. Fun fact: Florida teens don’t have to wait until they hit 18; they can pre-register to vote at age 16. Not registered? Fill out an application.
