This Friday the 13th, grab your friends and get your steps in while learning the secrets of the city and the stories that survived its most devastating eras. The experience is recommended for ages 13 and up.

Touché Gallery hosts the opening of This Side Up, a new exhibition by nationally recognized local artist Elena Øhlander. The collection explores objects coded as innocent—childhood artifacts and textiles—using the Japanese shipping label Tenchi Muyo (天地無用) as a framework. The title translates literally to “Heaven and Earth must not be reversed,” serving as both a practical instruction and a social assertion regarding the boundary between public handling and private interiority. Øhlander continues to be one of the most compelling creators in the scene. This time, she uses the repetitive, archival gestures of Sashiko stitching to explore how meaning is produced through acts of care and preservation.

Menorcan Heritage Celebration
