Adventure Landing announced Wednesday it has permanently closed its doors after 30 years of bringing family fun to Jacksonville Beach.

Adventure Landing’s management said in a statement that the beloved park was given a short time frame to cease operations, bringing a “sudden and heartbreaking end to more than 30 years of laughter, milestones, and community connection in Jacksonville Beach.”

The park’s staff also extended their gratitude to the hundreds of thousands of guests, season pass holders and employees who have been part of the park’s 30 years of service to the community.

“For 30 amazing years, it has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve the Jacksonville community,” said Hank Woodburn, who opened the park in 1995. “We’ve been honored to be part of countless birthday parties, family traditions, and year-round memories. Watching generations of families create joy together — from parents who visited as children now bringing their own kids — has been an extraordinary blessing from God. Being an integral part of the fabric of Jacksonville Beach and this wonderful community has meant everything to our entire Adventure Landing family.”

The park is inviting the Jacksonville community to preserve and celebrate 30 years of memories through:

  • Digital memory book: Submit photos and stories through a dedicated web page to be compiled into a comprehensive digital archive. All submissions will be preserved and shared with the community after closure.
  • Social media celebration: Share your favorite Adventure Landing moments, photos and stories on social media using #AdventureLandingMemories and #30YearsOfFun. Tag Adventure Landing Jacksonville Beach to be featured in the final celebration posts.

“Every memory shared helps us celebrate what this park has meant to Jacksonville Beach,” Woodburn said. “Whether it was your child’s first ride, a memorable birthday party or a summer tradition spanning generations, we want to honor these precious moments together. The stories and connections made here will live on long after our doors close.”

Adventure Landing in St. Augustine

Guests holding Jacksonville Beach tokens, gift certificates or redemption arcade tickets can redeem them at the Adventure Landing St. Augustine location, which remains open.

The St. Augustine park is at 2780 State Road 16 in St. Augustine and offers many of the same attractions and family fun as the Jacksonville Beach location. But that location also could close soon.

The St. Johns River Water Management District is reviewing an application that includes demolishing the park and redeveloping the site for commercial use.
