Jacksonville customers can now order their Winn-Dixie groceries delivered at home with the launch of Amazon.com’s new delivery program.

Beginning this week, customers can shop for groceries from Winn-Dixie at amazon.com/winndixie or by using the Amazon app. They can shop for over 16,000 items across multiple categories, available for delivery to customers in Atlantic Beach, Fleming Island, Neptune Beach, Orange Park, Ponte Vedra and Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Johns.

The Amazon service expands home delivery options already offered by other chains in Florida.

The new service also adds to Winn-Dixie’s addition of self-service Amazon Return Kiosks at 20 Winn-Dixie stores in Duval, Clay, Nassau and St. Johns counties.

How the Amazon service works

Amazon Prime members and customers without a Prime membership can get free delivery on all supermarket orders over $25, with two-hour delivery windows.

Winn-Dixie members also can link their supermarket rewards account with their Amazon account to earn one point for every $2 spent on grocery orders through Amazon, then redeem their points when shopping in the store.

Publix uses Instacart for same-day delivery and curbside pickup, while Amazon offers its own grocery delivery through services like Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market.

Kroger and Walmart also have home delivery in the Jacksonville area.

Winn-Dixie was founded in 1925 and operates grocery and liquor stores in communities throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi as a subsidiary of Southeastern Grocers.
