Good news for turtles: Jacksonville University is teaming up with Mickler’s Landing Turtle Patrol to expand its marine conservation work. Through the collaborative program, JU students will get field experience when they join turtle patrol volunteers to monitor nests along a 4.6-mile stretch of St. Johns County beach. The data they collect can help improve our understanding of endangered sea turtles and how human behavior affects them — which might inform coastal development policies.
