The St. Augustine PoetFest returns for its 4th annual celebration of creative writing and spoken word, honoring National Poetry Month with a three-day festival. Supported by Flagler College, the St. Johns Cultural Council and Ancient City Poets, the event brings together poets, authors, students and the community for an inspiring mix of workshops, readings, panel discussions and open mic opportunities.
Highlights include the Beat Poet Summit; hands-on activities like blackout poetry and The Human Story project; student and featured-poet showcases; a staged play reading; and a keynote by the New Mexico Beat Poet Laureate. The festival concludes with an awards ceremony for the St. Johns County Haiku Contest and a celebratory reception.

The UniverSoul Circus is a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly experience that blends traditional circus acts with high-energy music and cultural celebrations. Looking for a killer live show? Iconic indie rockers Shannon and the Clams hit the WJCT Soundstage as part of the Jacksonville Music Experience’s Soundstage Series. Known for their feel-good fusion of doo-wop, R&B, and garage rock, the band’s latest album, The Moon is in the Wrong Place, earned praise from Paste Magazine, Spin and more. It also made JME’s list of best records of the year.
They’re joined by Austin, Texas-based Being Dead, whose new album EELS is a wildly creative mix of freak folk, retro harmonies and primal beats, plus Jax’s own Siichaq, bringing their grungy shoegaze sound to kick off the night.
