Two teams of students from Jacksonville University have been selected as finalists in NASA’s Human Lander Challenge. The aim of the national competition is to develop cutting-edge solutions for storing and transferring cryogenic fuel in space, which could help NASA as it prepares to send astronauts back to the moon and eventually to Mars with its new Artemis program. JU is the only school to have two teams selected as finalists. Each team will get $9,250 to refine their concepts before they present them to NASA and industry leaders in Huntsville, Alabama, in June. The winners might get to take credit for helping humans get to Mars one day.
