Two Downtown businesses are on the move

Two major businesses in Downtown Jacksonville are pulling up stakes for new office space.

  • Haskell, the global building services company, is moving from Brooklyn to the 701 San Marco office tower on the Southbank, remaining in Downtown’s boundary while crossing the St. Johns River. Read more at the Jacksonville Daily Record, a Jacksonville Today news partner.
  • Citizens Property Insurance Corp. appears to be leaving Downtown for the former Florida Coastal School of Law building in South Jacksonville. Citizens picked that space from seven bids and plans to move in January 2026, the Daily Record reported.

Citizens has expressed concerns about safety Downtown. Mayor Donna Deegan on Friday pledged to provide additional security to retain an anchor employer.

“There is a window still open for Citizens Property Insurance to remain Downtown,” Deegan said in a statement. She encouraged the Citizens board of directors to reconsider its move.
