A portion of State Road 16 in St. Augustine will be closed over the weekend for work on a railroad crossing.
The road will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to midnight Tuesday between Lewis Speedway and Ponce De Leon Boulevard, according to St. Augustine officials.

Florida East Coast Railway is making safety improvements to the crossing at Ponce De Leon Boulevard. The work includes concrete replacement and resurfacing of the crossing.
Eastbound traffic will detour onto northbound Lewis Speedway, to southbound Ponce De Leon Boulevard, then back to State Road 16. Westbound traffic will detour onto northbound Ponce De Leon Boulevard, then southbound Lewis Speedway, then back to State Road 16.
The sidewalk also will be closed during this time, so bicyclists and pedestrians will not be permitted to cross the railroad during the closure.
