Publix Super Markets Inc. regularly renovates and rebuilds its stores. Here are two projects in the works in Jacksonville.

  • Publix wants to demolish and rebuild its Deerwood Village shopping center store at an estimated project cost of $9.3 million for the new grocery store and separate liquor store. The city is reviewing a building-permit application for the construction of the Publix Food & Pharmacy and a separate liquor store at 9964 Old Baymeadows Road. • The city issued a permit Wednesday for Publix to remodel its East Arlington grocery in Cobblestone Crossing at northeast Monument and McCormick roads. Publix has anchored the center since both were built in 1986. It demolished that store and built a new one in 2014. The Daily Record has this story as well.
