The public auction of the riverfront site of the imploded Berkman II condominium project was canceled after a defendant in the foreclosure filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The property at 500 E. Bay St. was scheduled for auction Monday.

The creditor and plaintiff in the case, Atlanta-based Choate Construction Co., did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
