It’s that time of year: The TaxSlayer Gator Bowl is Friday

Christmas may be over, but one of the year’s biggest events comes Friday.

The 79th Annual TaxSlayer Gator Bowl will kick off at noon at EverBank Stadium, where the Clemson Tigers will take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

Pep rallies will take place Thursday at Deck the Chairs at the Jacksonville Beach Seawalk Pavilion. The ACC Team pep rally will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the SEC rally at 6:15 p.m.

As for the game, city parking lots will open at 7 a.m. Friday, and stadium gates will open at 10.

The Touchdown Party goes from 10 to noon at the EverBank Stadium Sky Patio, priced at $75 per person.

Some do’s and don’ts at the stadium:

  • Fans can bring only a purse, bag or wallet no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches, a 1-gallon clear plastic bag or a clear bag no larger than 12 by 6 inches.
  • No tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, are allowed.
  • No cameras with detachable lenses or lenses longer than 6 inches are allowed.
  • No one can wear clothing with profane or obscene language.
  • And no coolers or containers, including cans, cups, bottles and beverages will be allowed from outside the stadium.
