A chemistry teacher at St. Augustine High School has been charged with three counts of transmitting harmful material to minors.
According to an affidavit from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Kyle Spitzer, 26, met a 13-year-old victim through a family member who was his former student. Prosecutors alleged the two communicated via Snapchat, a social media app, between October and December.
The affidavit says Spitzer sent lewd photos to the student through the app.
Spitzer has not been in contact with students since the investigation began in December, the school district says.
